1 [healthier eggnog latte] froth ½ cup horizon organic low-fat eggnog + ¼ cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk, then add either ¼ cup brewed coffee or 2 shots espresso + sprinkle with nutmeg! warning: eggnog is HIGH calorie, HIGH sugar…so this is the healthier option with only 140 cals + 3g fat per 1/2c compared to ~200cals + 10g fat…but beware, it still packs in 22g sugar!
2 [minty coco-cocoa] froth ¾ cup SO delicious mint-chocolate coconut milk + ¼ cup unsweetened chocolate almond milk, then top with a sprig o’ mint if you’re feelin’ fancy. note: this stuff might be too good to be true at only 50 cals, 2.5g fat, and (get this) only 6g sugar per ½ cup! add the chocolate almond milk to keep it from being too sweet. plus, it’s gluten-free + non-GMO verified.
3 [homemade hot chocolate] in a small saucepan, melt 1 oz 70% dark chocolate. add ½ cup nonfat milk (yes, moo milk) + ½ cup unsweetened chocolate almond milk + top with dark chocolate shavings or a few mini marshmallows. note: unless you’re lactose intolerant or just have a personal issue with milk, it’s chock-full-o-vitamins, minerals, and bone-building protein…plus, this little concoction is the perfect post-workout winter sipper!
4 [frothy caramel apple cider] in a small saucepan, heat ¾ cup reduced-sugar apple juice, then mix in ¼ tsp each of allspice + cinnamon, and add a few drops natural caramel extract. top with ¼ cup frothed nonfat milk and sprinkle with a dash of cinnamon! note: apple juice is sugary, no way around that…but this all-natural option has only 8.5g sugar + 45 cals per ½ cup – with no added artificial sweeteners.

7 [mulled wine] pour 2 cups red wine into a sauce pan with some mulling spices (cinnamon sticks are fab) + 1 tbsp honey and simmer on low. this warm wine will ensure you sip slowly – a healthier alternative to guzzling multiple glasses!
8 [hot toddy] brew a cup of black tea then add 1/2 tbsp honey, 2tsp lemon juice, + 1 oz whiskey or brandy. not only will this drink warm you up, it’s perfect for fighting the common cold this winter!
9 [winter sangria] a downright merry alternative to your typical glass of vino, make up a big batch for your holiday party. stir together 1 cup freshly-squeezed blood-orange juice, ¼ cup maple syrup, 2 whole cloves, 1 cinnamon stick + a bottle of fruity red wine (like a zinfandel), then add in 2 sliced tangerines, 1 sliced blood orange + 1 sliced lime. refrigerate overnight before serving!
10 [not-for-kiddos cocoa] add 1oz peppermint schnapps to the minty coco-cocoa or homemade hot chocolate (recipes above) for an extra hit o’ mint!
