12 blessings by the numbers
tis' the season to count our blessings. and we have lots. namely, YOU.
in the spirit of the holiday season, fitlosophy is kicking off 12 days of fitmas. get ready for gifts, giveaways, goods + guides to get you geared up, you goal-getter, you!
but before we get all giddy giving stuff away, i personally wanted to express my gratitude. thanksgiving and all-things pumpkin may have passed, but as we approach the christmas season, i think it’s important to take a pause before the merry mayhem.
here are 12 numbers that mean the world to me, so join us as we count our blessings.
- we're 12,000 strong. um, how awesome is it that right as we’re kicking off 12 days of fitmas, our facebook + instagram just hit 12k? coincidence? i think not. our little twitter just surpassed 4k and only heaven knows how our google+ hovers right around 366k! and i'm grateful for each + every one. a friend who i admire dearly said it best: "we’re not in the business of chasing likes; we’re in the business of changing lives."
- almost 8 years since this whole fitbook idea launched back in 2008. this whole being an entrepreneur thing is not-so-glam, but oh-so-worth-it. and i wouldn’t change a thing.
-
over 500,000 fitbooks in print, as of this year. (like, made ever.) what started
with a few handmade ones that i printed at kinkos (and sold for $20 cash) to thousands upon thousands that we have printed over the years, this little journal is in the business of changing lives. lots of ‘em. - 23,785 orders shipped (to date) from our website since launching back in 2008. i still remember who our first order was from (sam) and never forgot printing out each invoice, signing them by hand “live life fit, angela” with a red heart, packing them carefully, and shipping with love.
- 12 fab fitbookers who have shared their stories of transformation + triumph that inspire me – every. darn. day. what’s more: perusing social media, seeing posts of progress, we are unbelievably inspired by hundreds of you who include us in your healthy goal-getting journey. [wanna be a featured fab fitbooker? tell us your story.]
- 3850 little ones who we gifted with fitbook juniors this year in partnership with St. Jude Children’s Hospital and The Dairy Council in an effort to study the effects of journaling on health and fitness in elementary-age children. our fit@school program has always been a passion project, with a goal of getting kids healthy starting at a young age.
-
our small-but-mighty team of 5 who puts their heart + soul into making
fitlosophy’s vision a reality. they put passion + purpose behind all that we do. have you met my team? i heart them. (yes, i can count...1 of our fab fitlosophers is not pictured here.] - just over 5 years ago we’ve graced the shelves of Target stores. 10/10/10 to be exact – the date i received our vendor number from Target corporation. we started with 100-store test in feb 2011, added another 500 stores in may, and after way out-performing forecast, we expanded to full chain in september 2011 with 1796 stores.
- 5289 walgreens (you heard me.) this year will end with a big bang boom as 3 of our products will be at the corner of happy & healthy at stores across the country starting on 12/27/15 . stay tuned – this is kind of a big deal and we’re kinda beyond excited. expanding our brand with big box retailers allows us to change more lives with products that truly work, without breaking the bank.
- 9 countries where our products are distributed. while we may ship anywhere from our website, we’re proud to have partners on board who are helping us accomplish our goal of changing the shape of our world – literally.
- 4 fitbooks that have a heart for giving back. from creating charitable products to partnering with non-profit organizations, we find great joy in supporting causes that are near + dear to our heart with our fitgiving program that gives thousands of dollars every year. just ‘cause a company is small, doesn’t mean it can’t do big things.
- a kajillion (yes, it’s a number) times that i thank God for blessing me with this business, for entrusting me with this purpose, and for challenging me to accomplish more than i ever thought possible. a kajillion is a lot, by the way.
last number on my list of gratitude: ONE.
it just takes 1 moment, 1 person, 1 blessing, or 1 deed to change someONE else’s life for the better. this is why i do what i do.
i want to inspire people. i want someONE to look at me and say: “because of you, i didn’t give up.”
now, read my little list. check it twice. wanna win goodies?
don’t be naughty. (that's not nice.)

Today I just said goodbye to 2 children from Uganda I had the blessing to host for the holidays with the Daraja Choir. Today I will enroll to become a Daraja Family member, to help support the children as they tour the country and worship, and sponsor a child so they can go to school with their own books. xoxo

I was a blessing to an old friend who I hadn’t spoken with for a long time. She lost her job back in October and I think I helped her by letting her vent about being unemployed and looking for a job at age 67. Don’t let the numbers fool you….this woman can run circles around you! Thank you for the opportunity.

I will be a blessing to someone else by giving my time this season. I will focus my energy and my thoughts on them, from just listening to running errands, or just hanging with them and doing what they want they will have me completely.

Great post!
This may sound strange, but I plan on being a blessing to someone today by being in-tune with the Lord and his word, if I am not sensitive to his will, made possible by reading His word I might miss whatever "act of blessing " someone that I can do today.
